Moving Towards Home

what are your plans after this? a window popped on my chat screen....it was my old friend…..want to move back to our town, I replied……to no surprise I received an expected reply HAHAHA ;)

Yes I want to move back to my town………!!!!!!

Ask a child from a town, what he wants to do with his life, and you’ll get reply something like this “move away from here, anywhere in the city”. From childhood, town kids plan their escape from the small place. They build a list of reasons as tall as their water tower. That career drama. The reasons like lack of opportunities. I know, because I was one of them, and I had my reasons like everyone else. And as soon as I was done with my SSC, I moved to the big city Aurangabad. I wanted to go away from that small town, wanted to start a new chapter of my life leaving behind a yearbook of those ‘small’ memories.  With God’s grace I got everything that I planned. In four years, I got fresh beginnings, new friends, new memories, independence, an education and a stronger-than-ever relationship with my mom and dad. I graduated and surely will have a strong job prospect after completing my post graduation; yet there is one thing I always want—to go home.
Small towns are like magnets, you can’t stay away from it. If you are not from one of such towns, you won’t understand the force that pulls you back.
1. You are probably friends with the lone town policeman.
2.  Everybody does know your name.
3.  You can actually afford to go to movies.
4.  No crowd, no traffic.
5.  One can actually see the stars.
Jokes apart....

When I recently moved back to my place I found that the beauty of the place lies in the locality here and the hold…the magnetism is in the overwhelming climate. Only now I could see is that my straight love for this town is actually my love for the people here. It is the people who ask how you’re doing and spend 20 minutes really listening to find out.  It’s your school teacher who also taught your brother and tells you stories about his mischief. It is your so called adda where you have spent most of your time with friends.  Today after experiencing many to’s and fro’s in this so called city life I would prefer to spend rest of my life with my people with my parents. I’m sure, to you, it seems ridiculous that how a person could live in one place for their whole life. As a teen, I would have been tempted to agree with you. But growing up—and becoming a full-blown person—has zeroed in my priorities for a life in a metro.  And if the best thing is a close family, safety, friendly neighbors and growing stronger, then I don’t want to be anywhere but HERE.

Rupee Rebounds

The depreciation of rupee has mostly affected the students like me. Pocket money has not changed over decades on the contrary petrol prices are expanding like petals of young flower.

Dollar again jumps up to all-time high. 1 U.S. dollar is 56.7988186 Indian rupees, according to Google, today. The Indian Rupee (INR) is in a downward spiral of sorts. It has depreciated against all major currencies. The oil ministry has raised the petrol prices by 7 rupees per liter due to downward trending of rupee. RBI always tried to protect rupee by selling off dollars but still has been unable to hold rupee from falling at a rapid pace. The last resort of controlling rupee fall is issuing bonds by Reserve Bank of India. To prevent further downfall of Indian rupee, RBI is considering selling dollars directly to oil marketing firms.

It is a known fact that the price of any asset is a function of its demand and supply. And considering that the growth in Indian economy has slowed down global investors shunned Indian equities. This has put a downward pressure on rupee. Widening current account deficit is another reason. A current account deficit results when imports are more than exports. Now it must be noted that India's imports majorly constitute of crude and gold which is bought and sold in dollars. Thus, increasing imports increase the demand for dollars. And this increases the supply of rupee as people sell rupee to buy dollars. This puts a downward pressure on rupee.

Deficit refinancing is another area of concern. Containing fiscal deficit by money printing increases the money supply in the economy. This stokes inflation and impacts the rupee.

So, what steps have to be taken to curb a further downfall in INR? A partial intervention by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is a quick fix solution. Creating an investment friendly climate is another option. Right now, bureaucratic impediments in India have hurt the investment sentiment of overseas investors. Reducing red tape can attract significant amount of money via FII (Foreign Institutional Investment) and FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) route in India. This should help rupee gain some strength.

Curbing fiscal and current deficit can also go a long way in supporting rupee. Phasing out of subsidies in a gradual manner should reduce fiscal deficit. This eliminates the need of deficit financing and thereby excess money supply in the economy. In terms of containing current account deficit government will have to take steps to make exports competitive. Providing tax sops to exporters and access to cheap credit are a few ways by which this can be done.

Heartfelt Apology....

Few days back I participated in the anti-corruption movement…….
And today I have bribed a railway TC for getting a berth in a reservation bogie!!

I am against Corruption sounded good when the drama was on. But the fact is that corruption rests in our DNA. We cannot get rid of it! Few months back, whole of India was out on streets fighting against corruption. Indians presented their soundless strength and power which thundered the government to bow in front of them. The drama is now over; it flied off like a cold evening breeze. Had it made any change? If you think so and are proud to have won the war, then discontinue duping yourself. It hasn’t altered anything….

Won’t you bribe the traffic policeman now? Won’t you pay off a TC for traveling in a reservation bogie?  Marching and tweeting against the corruption will not make our image corrupt free. We often close our eyes deep, when it comes to seek admission in a reputed college on low grades. We Indians have used corruption as a tool to get our work done. Corruption is like cancer in public life, which has not become so rampant and perpetuated overnight, but in course of time. Corruption starts at the top and percolates down to the whole society. It is not only confined to the metros but has spread its roots in villages too; it is not only confined to ministers but also has involved common man like me!!

For the last few months we all messaged and emailed our friends to support anti corruption movement, but will that help to change this mega problem? Rallies may help in generating awareness to change the laws, but what if we break the same rules in the immediate future. Is it right to blame government all the time for corruption? Aren’t we equally responsible for this evil? All that will work is change... change in our attitude.... change in our lookout….

SAY NO TO BRIBE!!
I am blameworthy and accounted myself to the corrupt culprits of the nation…..
I am at fault…I am embarrassed…
I AM SORRY……

India is my country..

India. What special can be engraved about this country that has never said before? Formerly I thought of writing the flawed facet about the motherland. Even I dropped a composition to my diary, as it is trouble-free to find the gloomy side of the coin. But I didn’t like that, scrambling the piece I waved it to the bin.

  Happy Independence Day……….

India is my country. And I am among those Indians who sit in a coffee shop for hours condemning the filthy situation of the country. I am that Indian who criticizes the corrupt leaders and wish that Shivaji should take a rebirth, to bring in revolution. I am that Indian who is always ready for a candle light march, because I am practiced to react in the way. I am afraid of the competition. Yes I am afraid of the reservation. Just look at a crowd of thousands & select one face. I am that person. I am just a brainless common Indian whose patriotism awakens all of a sudden on republic day and independent day. Yes I am the one who is responsible for the miserable condition of my land. I am the youth, aged youth!!
Today I am at a point where life demands a new beginning. What next (?) dwells in the minds of almost every graduate. And roughly many of us go for foreign universities; coz money floods your pockets there. I would not like to criticize anyone nor blame the lookout. But I was deeply depressed by the news few days back, a Pune guy shot dead in UK. And there are many tales where dead bodies speak out loud for justice. Why do our students seek degrees from foreign universities and work there? Why don’t we trust in our education system? Or is it a trend for ‘foreign-tag’?  We Indians have a very typical behavior; if there is any foreign product we worship the virtues of the product. The label of the foreign country on the product cheers up our spirit widens our eyes and brings a whiff of pride on our faces. An Indian made product will be looked upon with suspicion, its quality will be doubted and manufacturing formula with expiry date will never be trusted. Akin to the Indian products we don’t even trust our education system.  Institutes here in India of technological and management excellence are the temples of education. They have put India on the map of knowledge and wisdom and yet our students want to fly out of this country to enhance their perspicacity and adroitness in technical and management spheres. "If you have to choose five best brains of the world, go to five IITs of India", Bill Gates ones noted in his speech. The craze for a management degree from an Australian or British University stems from the fact that the students fail to make it to top management institutes of the country. Students love to study in India only if they get the College of their choice and since merit pushes them far behind, they compensate for it by seeking the same degree from any foreign or European University. See the irony; our countrymen look upon these chaps with the sense of glee and pride. Better matrimonial offers knock at their doors, domestic companies prefer these guys and hence the craze for such degrees remains ever on the rise.
This must come to an end. Guys India is calling, India needs you. A nation that is growing young every day. A nation that throbs with a Never-Say-Die attitude. Billion hopes, aspirations and dreams waiting to be unleashed here.  It's time to transform your ideas into reality. It's time to let the spark transform into a flame of glory. Let the reverse brain drain begin. It is India's age. Let the students from the developed world make India a destination for their studies and let the craze for a degree from foreign university turn out to be fake and let our India reign supreme when it comes to spreading knowledge and information. Let’s make our country a superpower, let us work for our people, for our country and let our light shine on the earth…

Because, India is our country......

How do I tell them......?

When I was child my teacher asked me what my dream was. Rolling up my chicks, with a grin I would answer “Engineer”.  Countless vocations were introduced in that ‘podium’. Selection of an ideal career at the age of twelve was a stupid baloney. A normal kid is almost not mighty to select even his wearing, how could he make a resolution for a career (?)
Many doctors from those grades today are engineers, many air-hostesses from those benches today are engineers, many bureaucrats from those classes today are engineers as a consequence many engineers from that ‘school’ today are jobless.  The point is, none followed the one they loved to be and chose the trendy market. Throw a stone up in the sky and ninety nine percent is the probability that it will choose a head of an Engineer, in India. Very few of the techies here are by choice, rest followed the herd of sheep. I clearly remember the first day of my Engineering; the creepy professor here swapped the question to why is engineering your dream?  And the answer for this broke the class in laughter; “Parents insisted!” answered a fellow. He was true. Parents insisted, it was an unspoken answer of many students. Few days back finding #career trending on twitter, I chuckled with disgrace; it was factual, in today’s clock education is a kind of fashion a type of fad. Now-a-days it’s engineering and its increasing craze kicks me off in a large humiliation. I am one of ‘those millions’, it would have sounded better for the one among hundreds. I ever liked engineering but never loved it.  Regrettably I came to know about it when I jumped in the pool of machines. What was supposed to be spotted four years earlier approached at a point when looking back in the past wouldn’t make any brains. And it’s common with many. The manner one looks forward choosing ‘love’ over ‘trend’ is a vital contest.

From the time I was able to think, I dreamed for being an engineer. Eventually will be an engineer sooner than six months. But at this phase I got to know, I was wrong, what I dreamed was a fantasy (my dear ones will call it as rubbish as many of you will but it is true). Altering the track needs a strong courage a deep dedication and a surety that history won’t repeat. I must talk with my parents regarding this and should exchange their outlook. I am afraid. Not exactly afraid, something different for what I am scared of. I am all alone, I am not able to understand how do I tell them….?

Killer Rage

a scene witnessed by a friend:

Bright sunlight it was!! A filthy road and traffic was at its peak. A hefty truck like a burning rubber fled off making clouds. A white Mercedes tramping the dust sprinted rapidly, evading the road wells. Blowing off the tyre layers it came to a halt in front of a jagged mechanic shop. The zone busy in full activity was stunned. Everything went paused for a while. Surprised were the people, hack jawed!
“Aaron…..Aaaa..rron” yelled the young Kelly striding off the car with her two bodyguards.
5’6” lady..must be 26…fair enough to turn red..every inch of her face churned out anger. The wispy curve of hairs mirrored her beauty.
“Who is that bitch shouting?” Aaron stepped out drumming the spanners in both hands.
Aaron was a mechanic in his early thirties but reflecting aged signs out of his arduous face.
“You have made bigg mistake bastard, now be ready to pay for it…..” Kelly said gnashing her teeth.
“Sinnn! It was youuu who filched my thirty thousand bucks…..” said Aaron.
“Ahhhhh  uuuuuu! u were responsible for that...u pointed me haa..ahh I suffered a lot these days...…guardssss………”, she waved her hand pointing him.
Whack..
A blow and Aaron’s nose was fractured with rivers of blood. Weapon it was, chocked his breath…..
Whackkk!  The other one…….. and he was  down for the count.
“yuu..oou will suffer Kelley I ww..wwwil..l screw……..” Aaron went numb lying on the sheet of grease and blood.
Kelly smiled rolling her chicks down; an intense emotion of satisfaction emitted her face.

She stepped in car with guards and a driver, was about to leave and a huge hoard attacked looking friend Aaron in mist of red. They were about couple of dozen. Fear swelled the pace in car. Driver tried to get through the mob but failed.
Smash Smash Smash!!!! Stones railed towards the sedan.
“ I will kkkill you today… you hurt my brother” Peter broke the front shield with a single blow.
Screams all over.
Fisssss!!!   David cracked the glass with an axe and shattered it with the successive second hit.
David and Peter probably were the friends of the victim

Peter ran towards Kelly, holding an axe ready to slash. He was angry.. enraged.. irritated.. he was burning dodgy red….
Looking straight into ‘her’ eyes, he cruelly hauled up his weapon …AAAAAAAAAzzz.she scremead and…..

THAWWWWWWWW!!

a gunshot!!!
she screamed louder again....
Peter was down, bullet went straight into his brows...

....a grave silence around....
(bullet was shot from the broken window pane of the car)

From the Eye to the Heart

   -old pages of diary

My battered suitcase is piled on the sidewalk again; I have a long way to go.  This journey is like an ecstasy, I am going to rest on my old familiar pillow, much excited to ride through the wholesome street.  I am going home. Wow!! It’s splendid…..it’s contented…..its rich…..nonetheless it’s a state road transport bus. Stunned, don’t be so, I am joking. But it doesn’t matter, and it’s not worthy saying, because India comes home in this four wheel painted red.  The go is easy, trouble-free, painless, and well-heeled if it trails towards your home.  Home! Buldana!!! The only stand-in for home, I guess. And I am on the stairway to heaven. I am happy! I am happy!! My attachment for this place has no bounds. And never have got the answer for this immense affection.
I have a strange love for this place, as it is my own. What lay at the corner of this place? What has this place given me, that made me love it so? Actually the answer is quite apparent; it was in front of my eyes, but I never noticed it for the last 21 years!! I just didn’t see. My buddies, my dear ones, my companions, my pals and notably the right I have, to call everything ‘my’ (mine).  When I look at back, in the past, I wonder if the joy of living here would have been the same without the company of buddies. This place has something which attracts you. The road cutting the edges of the mountain, wow the scene, I never like to off my sight out of it. Here, you are at the top!!! One may say on the top of the world. And yes my favorite place is here. Lush green grass, mountains laden with dense trees and the deep valleys accompanying the large horizon, is a good place to find isolation. When I have no one to talk around they accompany me, looking far to find unanswered questions. Well the best thing here, actually I love it the most, is girls, those too really pretty gals. Don’t think that I am starved but that is the truth. The happiest thing is that they don’t have a guy along….lol
For many days, struggling to find the answer, at last I got it, after moving away from the town, moving away from the people here. It is all manmade!!The beauty of the place lies in the locality here and the hold…the magnetism is in the overwhelming climate. Only now I could see is that my straight love for this town is actually my love for the people here. I must thank everyone for a wonderful life. Often I close my eyes for a second. Look for my special someone…I find my friends!!!! And I find this town even more beautiful than I ever imagined…….
